Matthieu Sprick
Matthieu Sprick (born September 29, 1981 in Saargemünd ) is a former French cyclist .
Career
After Sprick was third in the French championships in 2003 among the elite drivers without a contract and second in the U-23 class, he joined the cycling team Brioches La Boulangère in 2004 . He won the Tour du Doubs one-day race in his first year . In 2008 he won a stage of the Tour de Langkawi .
Sprich took part in the Tour de France six times and finished the tour five times. He achieved his best placement in the 2006 Tour de France when he was 51. He finished third in the junior competition behind Damiano Cunego and Markus Fothen .
On May 22, 2013, Sprick suffered a heart attack. At the end of the 2014 season, he retired from his career after it proved impossible to regain a professional level.
