Mattia Vitale (born October 1, 1997 in Bologna ) is an Italian football player . The midfielder is currently under contract with Juventus Turin and is currently on loan to SPAL Ferrara .

Career

Vitale started playing football at the age of five with FC Persiceto 85 in his hometown of San Giovanni in Persiceto in what was then the province of Bologna . He played for Persiceto until 2009, before moving to the youth team at FC Bologna , where he played for two years. In 2011 he moved to Juventus Turin , in whose youth department he has been active since then.

In the second half of the 2014/15 season , Vitale made his first professional appearances for Juve after having been in the squad several times . He came on as a substitute on April 11, 2015 in the 1-0 defeat by FC Parma and on the last matchday against Cagliari Calcio . Vitale has been part of the Turin squad since the 2015/16 season .

In January 2016 he was awarded to the second division club SS Virtus Lanciano until the end of the season . In the summer of 2016, he was on loan to AC Cesena , for which he played 21 games in the 2016/17 season .

In the summer of 2017 Vitale was loaned to FC Venice , but the loan was terminated prematurely in August without Vitale playing a game. A day later, a loan to SPAL Ferrara was negotiated.

Vitale has played for Italy's U-18 team since 2014.
