Mattias Mete or Matiyes Mete (born May 30, 1987 in Stockholm ) is a Turkish - Swedish football player.

Career

society

Mete belongs to one of the numerous Aramaic communities in Sweden . He played almost exclusively for clubs in this community, which in Sweden even has representatives in the top leagues.

Since his ancestors immigrated from Turkey and have Turkish citizenship and there is a very limited number of foreigners in the upper Turkish professional leagues, football players of Turkish origin abroad became interesting for Turkish clubs. Under these conditions, Mete moved together with his community member Nahir Oyal in January 2014 as a loan player to the second division club Şanlıurfaspor . In April 2014, after consultation with the club's management, he dissolved his contract and left this club.

National team

Mete began his national team career in 2003 with an assignment for the Swedish U-16 national team. Then he went through the Swedish U-19 national team.
