Mattsies is a district of the Markt Tussenhausen in the Upper Swabian district of Unterallgäu in Bavaria , Germany. The Mindelheim-Mattsies airfield is located within the municipality .

history

The oldest documented mentions of Mazzenziez in 1095 indicate a coat of arms and tribal community with the mighty taverns of Winterstetten. One can assume that Hermann (Hezelo's son of the monastery founder of St. Georgen in the Black Forest), who owned goods in Mathesowa in the “Mindilriet” district around 1095, already belonged to this Mazzensiezer branch of the Winterstetten taverns.

When Mattsies was incorporated into Tussenhausen on May 1, 1978, the community lost its political independence.

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved by the government of Swabia on May 25, 1977 .

Blazon : "Under a blue shield head in gold a red angel-shaped hook."

With the local knight dynasty von Mazzensiez and Anglberg from the 12th and 13th centuries, who belong to the Reichsministeriales, their red angle hook on the family coat of arms has also become the basis for the new municipal coat of arms. The field colors blue and gold indicate the historical relationship between the place and the Fuggers, which began in 1598 and whose rule over Mattsies lasted until 1680.

The design and the design of the coat of arms comes from Kronacher Karl Haas.
