Maurice Taylor

Maurice Taylor (born May 5, 1926 in Hamaltan , Scotland ) is Bishop Emeritus of Galloway .

Life

Maurice Taylor was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Motherwell on July 2, 1950 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Galloway on April 4, 1981 .

The Archbishop of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh , Gordon Joseph Cardinal Gray , ordained him episcopal on June 9 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Joseph Michael McGee , Bishop Emeritus of Galloway, and Francis Thomson , Bishop of Motherwell .

On April 7, 2004, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
