Mauricio Gómez , full name Mauricio Sebastián Gómez Castro , (born April 16, 1992 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

According to his club, the 1.75 meter tall defensive player Gómez has been in the squad of the first division Montevideo Wanderers at least since the Clausura 2013 . In that half series he played two games (no goal) in the Primera División . In the 2013/14 season he played 32 other top division games for the Montevideans and scored four goals. The Wanderers won the Clausura that season. At the beginning of July 2014, reports were made about a move from Gómez to Argentina to the Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata team trained by Pedro Troglio . There he should have signed a one-year contract. However, on July 31, 2014, it was reported that he had joined Atlético Rafaela . With the Argentines he was used ten times in the Primera División and scored one goal. He also came into play once (no goal) in the Copa Argentina . At the beginning of March 2016, he moved to the Uruguayan second division club Atlético Torque , for which he played 14 league games (no goal) in the 2016 Clausura. In the 2016 season he returned to the Montevideo Wanderers. Since then (as of August 7, 2017) there have been 34 premier league appearances (one goal) for him across all seasons until the 2017 season. He was also used in six games of the Copa Sudamericana 2016 and four matches of the Copa Libertadores 2017 - each without a personal goal .
