Mauricio Gallaga (born July 16, 1972 in Irapuato , Guanajuato ) is a former Mexican soccer player who mainly played in midfield and started working as a soccer coach after his active career.

Gallaga spent most of his professional career with UAG Tecos , with whom he won the only championship title in club history in his second season in 1993/94 .

After eight years with the Tecos, Gallaga moved to the UANL Tigres in the summer of 2000 and then played for a half season each for Santos Laguna , Atlético Celaya and the Cuernavaca Colibries . For the 2003/04 season he returned again to the Tecos and ended his active career in the 2004/05 season with the Tigres farm team Tigres Broncos Los Mochis playing in the second-rate Primera División 'A' .

In the period between 1993 and 1995, Gallaga came to a total of eight international appearances for the Mexican national team .

Trainer

Since the summer of 2007, Gallaga has worked in the coaching staff of his long-term club UAG Tecos with its various youth teams. After the club was downgraded to the fourth-class Tercera División , Gallega was entrusted with the post of head coach for the second team of the "Tecos successor club" Mineros de Zacatecas, who played in the third-class Segunda División .
