Mauro Macario (born February 21, 1947 in Santa Margherita Ligure ) is an Italian director and artist.

Life

Macario is the son of the actor Erminio and between 1969 and 1971 worked as assistant director to Bruno Corbucci for seven films. In 1975 he directed his only film, Perché si uccidono, about the crisis of a drug-confronted young man from a good family, which he directed based on his own script. It was only performed in limited numbers; Macario turned to theater work, for which he also wrote ( Licenza di ridere is dedicated to his father). He also published a monograph on his parents. For the RAI he was mainly responsible for music formats. In 1980 he published the music album Amoropolis and between 1990 and 1994 three volumes of poetry.
