Mauro Ribeiro (born July 19, 1964 in Curitiba ) is a former Brazilian cyclist . He had some successes during his career. It should be emphasized, however, that he was the only Brazilian so far (July 2011) to win a stage of the Tour de France . In 1991 he prevailed on the eighth day segment after 161 kilometers from Alençon to Rennes . He finished the tour - the only one of his career - as 47th in the overall standings and is thus also the first Brazilian participant to survive the Tour of France to the finals in Paris . In 1996 he represented his home country at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta . In the road race, however, he only finished 91st.

Nowadays Ribeiro technical director of the team extra Suzano and runs a business for sportswear in Curitiba.
