The Maurstad Point (in Chile Punta Micalvi ) is a headland halfway along the west side of the Renaud Island in the archipelago of the Biscoe Islands off the west coast of the West Antarctic Graham Land . It is located 10.5 km north-northwest of Speerschneider Point .
The headland was first shown on an Argentine map from 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1959 after the Norwegian geographer Alf Maurstad (1901 – unknown), author of the 1935 Atlas of Sea Ice . The namesake of the Chilean name is the cargo ship Micalvi .
