The church village lies between the foot of the Hochstaufen and the Pidingerau district . The demarcation to Pidingerau was set on Hosemannstrasse and Untersbergstrasse.
In the district there was once a toll station on the salt road from the (Bavarian) town of Bad Reichenhall to Rupertiwinkel, Salzburg until 1810, or to Teisendorf .
