Staufenbrücke is a district of Piding in the Berchtesgadener Land district . Staufenbrücke is only separated from Bad Reichenhall by the Saalach and is almost completely sealed off from Piding itself by alluvial forests.

Staufenbrücke was independent of the municipality until 1949 and belonged to the Saalachau forest district. The name comes from the bridge over the Saalach, which has been located here at the foot of the Hochstaufen mountain range since the first half of the 13th century .

Staufenbrücke was connected to Bad Reichenhall for pedestrian and bicycle traffic by the so-called "Staufensteg" across the Saalach. It was built in 1957 from prestressed concrete and had been closed since the end of 2008 due to the risk of collapse due to corrosion on the tendons . In March 2009 a makeshift bridge made of wood and steel girders was built. The structure of the new bridge planned for 2010 at the same location consists of a steel box girder with an attached reinforced concrete slab. The new Staufen Bridge was officially opened on August 12, 2011.

At the northern edge of the settlement area, federal road 20 and the Freilassing – Berchtesgaden railway line cross the Saalach on their own bridge structures.

Staufenbrücke is served by the Stadtwerke Stadtbus routes. From 2019, the Bad Reichenhall Nord stop is to be set up on the railway line on the Reichenhall side of the Berchtesgadener Land Bahn .

The Bad Reichenhaller settlement area at the southeast end of the Staufensteg is often named with the name Staufenbrücke, although this area belongs to the Bad Reichenhaller district of St. Zeno .
