The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine is an institute sponsored by the Max Planck Society . The managing director is currently Hans Schöler.

history

The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine was founded on August 1, 2001 in Münster. Dietmar Vestweber was the founding director . In 2004 the institute was expanded to include a further department headed by the stem cell researcher Hans Robert Schöler . In the same year the institute was given its current name. In the summer of 2006 the institute moved to a new building. At the end of 2007, the biochemist Ralf H. Adams was appointed head of the third department , and he moved from Cancer Research UK London to Münster.

International Max Planck Research School ( IMPRS )

The institute is involved in the International Max Planck Research School for Molecular Biomedicine , an English-language doctoral program that was set up together with the University of Münster . The spokesman for the IMPRS is Dietmar Vestweber.
