Max Arenz
Max Arenz (* 1868 in Nuremberg ; † unknown) was a German portrait and genre painter. His genre and portrait painting belong stylistically to the Defregger school.
Arenz grew up in Riga, where his father was a foreman. He studied from October 31, 1887 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Karl Raupp (1837-1918), Otto Seitz (1846-1912) and Franz von Defregger (1835-1921). Around 1908 Arenz moved to Caputh , later to Potsdam , where he still took part in the Potsdam Art Summer exhibition in 1921 .
In the Havelländische Malerkolonie Ferch am Schwielowsee , Arenz had several studio houses built, which he sold to artists at a profit. He sold his own house to Arthur Borghard around 1908 .
