Max Coreth

Max Ernst Joseph Maria Coreth (born April 8, 1887 in Vienna , † August 29, 1948 in Rechnitz ) was an Austrian , agricultural administrator and politician. Coreth was married, a member of the Burgenland state parliament and governor in the Burgenland state government.

Max Coreth was born the son of the Imperial and Royal Chamberlain, Major General and Lieutenant-Captain of the Trabanten-Life Guard Count Carl Theodor Coreth from Vienna. Max Coreth visited the Theresianum in Vienna, became a career officer and served as a first lieutenant in the Landwehr cavalry. Between 1934 and 1936 he was councilor of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture and was sworn in as a member of the Burgenland state parliament on November 12, 1934 during the Austrian fascism . On January 3, 1936, Coreth replaced Walter Riebl as state governor in the state government of Sylvester IIfrom, of which he belonged until March 12, 1938. Before that, he had already resigned his state parliament mandate on March 30, 1936, where he represented the field of "Agriculture and Forestry". After the Nazis' invasion, Coreth was in political detention for three weeks in 1938.
