Max Günther Piedmont

Max Günther Piedmont (born October 30, 1916 in Cologne ; † August 8, 1989 in Konz ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After attending a grammar school in Trier and a commercial school, Piedmont completed a commercial apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank . During the Second World War he was a captain and commander of a tank destroyer division and was taken prisoner by the British. In 1946 he took over his parents' winery. He was president of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer winegrowing association and vice-president of the German winegrowing association . Piedmont was married and had four children.

politics

Piedmont joined the FDP in 1951 and was from 1953 to 1979 an alderman of the office or the Verbandsgemeinde Konz . From 1961 to 1972 he was chairman of the FDP district association in Trier. From 1951 to 1967 and from 1973 to 1975 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . There he was vice-president of the state parliament from 1957 to 1967.

Honors

Piedmont was honored with the large Federal Cross of Merit with a star and the Order of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .
