Max Jungmann
Max Jungmann (born April 1, 1875 in Ostrzeszów , German Reich ; died 1970 in Haifa ) was a German doctor , editor-in-chief and Zionist .
Life
Jungmann studied medicine in Berlin and Freiburg, was a member of the Jung-Israel student association and diplomatic representative of the Zionist organization in London . He was a member of a fraternity of the cartel Jewish connections . He practiced as a doctor.
In May 1903 a single issue of the satirical, Zionist magazine Der Schlemihl - Illustrated Jewish magazine for humor and satire appeared . The editors were Sammy Gronemann and Leo Winz . In addition to Jungmann, employees were Emil Simonson and Theodor Zlocisti . Julius Moses took over the publishing house and Jungmann became editor-in-chief of the paper for copyright reasons under the new title Schlemiel. Jewish sheets of humor and art . Gronemann, Simonson and Zlocisti were there again. The last regular issue appeared in May 1905, followed by two special issues in 1907 and 1908. After the First World War , Berlin's Welt-Verlag reissued the magazine, and Jungmann was again editor-in-chief. The editor at the time was Menachem Birnbaum .
Jungmann was probably the main author for Birnbaum's letters from Neu-Neuland .
After the handover of power to the National Socialists , Jungmann emigrated to Palestine in 1938 .
