Max grains
Max Körner (born September 18, 1887 in Reutlingen , † June 21, 1963 in Nuremberg ) was a German graphic artist, painter and book artist.
Career
In 1901, Körner completed a three-year apprenticeship as a wood sculptor with his father in Nürtingen and studied at the Kgl. Teaching and testing workshop in Stuttgart near Pankok and Cissarz . From 1913 to 1921 he was a teacher for graphics and book trade at the Stuttgart School of Applied Arts. From 1921 he held a professorship at the State School for Applied Art in Nuremberg and was head of the master class for applied graphics. In 1922, the Stuttgarter Kickers acquired the current Körner emblem, for presumably 300 marks. During the National Socialist era , Körner worked for Nazi organizations and produced printed matter for the "City of Nazi Party Rallies". In 1944, Körner was on the God-gifted list .
After the war, from 1945 to 1948 he was temporarily entrusted with the management of the academy, which was temporarily housed in Ellingen Castle, until Fritz Griebel was appointed director. His students there included u. a. Heinz Schillinger , Richard Lindner and Dore Meyer-Vax .
