Max Klein (politician)

Max Klein (born June 20, 1882 in Vienna ; † December 11, 1957 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ) and health insurance official. From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria and from 1920 to 1934 a member of the Austrian Federal Council .

Klein graduated from elementary, civic and commercial school and worked as an inspector and office manager for the health insurance company for commercial assistants. Simultaneously with the start of his work activity, Klein became involved in the union and became deputy chairman of the central association of commercial employees, chairman of the permanent delegation of the union employee organizations and vice-president of the German-Austrian pension institution for employees. He was also a member of the State Commission for Socialization. He represented the Social Democratic Workers' Party from May 20, 1919 to May 11, 1921 in the Lower Austrian Landtag ( Common Landtag ), from November 10, 1920 in the course of the separation phase of Vienna from Lower Austria, he was a member of the Vienna Curia and from December 30, 1920 Vienna delegate was. Afterwards he was a member of the Federal Council between December 1, 1920 and February 17, 1934 ( 1st , 2nd , 3rd and 4th legislative period ).

Klein emigrated to Palestine in 1938, returned to Austria after the end of the Second World War in 1945 and became head of the employee pension insurance. Subsequently he worked as director of Perlmooser AG until 1954.
