Max Matissek

Max Matissek (born October 9, 1987 in Vienna ) is an Austrian freestyle windsurfer .

biography

Matissek grew up on Lake Neusiedl and lives alternately in the Neusiedler district , Vienna and Hamburg . He is one of the few inland windsurfers who take part in the PWA World Tour and is the only Austrian who has participated in all stages of the World Tour in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 in the freestyle discipline. As of 2017, he was multiple Austrian champion in the freestyle and tow-in disciplines. His best international placement in a competition was 4th place at the PWA Indoor Freestyle World Cup in Warsaw in 2014. In 2013 he was part of an advertising campaign by the Generali Group Austria . In addition to windsurfing, he also paints and realizes film projects. Probably his best-known project, True Wind , was realized in cooperation with Wien Kanal (MA30) and the Alterlaa residential park . Part of the film project called Under the Streets of Vienna was shot in an underground rainwater storage tank in the City of Vienna. In the second part, On Top of Vienna , the location was a rooftop pool on a block of flats in the Alterlaa residential complex.
