List of reconstructed buildings in Germany

The list of reconstructed buildings in Germany is a collection of noteworthy reconstructed buildings in Germany . It contains completed structures, structures under construction, structures in planning and structures whose reconstruction is being promoted by initiatives.

introduction

All of the structures listed in the respective tables of this list are reconstructions or pending reconstructions of at least partially defunct structures .

It is a relevant reconstruction in the sense of this list if the respective building already has an article in the German-language Wikipedia in which it is described. Furthermore, it is a building worth performing if at least one of the following criteria is met. The construction:

  • is or was a landmark of its respective city or region,
  • is or was an identification mark or seat of an important institution or a large company,
  • has or had a significant history; significant historical moments took place in, on or on it, or outstanding personalities lived or worked in it, or it had an important function in its history for the respective location,
  • is or was a significant development step in terms of architectural history or building construction,
  • has or had unusual features, such as a particular size, or an appearance or construction that was unusual for its time,
  • is or was an officially registered monument,
  • is or was particularly controversial, popular or hated by the population,
  • has been extensively covered in specialist literature or in major media.

Completed Reconstructions: Reconstructions that are essentially complete.

  • Name: Official name of the building.
  • Location: City in which the building is located and its coordinates. Optionally, specific localizations such as B. known districts, parks, streets or squares.

In 2008 the construction site of the palace was free again after the Palace of the Republic was torn down. The Berliner Schloss - Humboldtforum Foundation has been the client of the new palace since 2009 . Construction work began in March 2013 and on June 12, 2015 the topping-out ceremony for the completed shell of the castle including the roof structure was celebrated. Since then there have been efforts to reconstruct the building academy based on a historical model. In particular, the Building Academy Association, founded in 1994, is committed to this. In 2004, a reconstructed view of the building through scaffolding with curtain-type and printed tarpaulins in original size was set up on the construction site for advertising purposes. The new tower, based on the tower built in 1931, is to be built as a wooden structure. The necessary plans are still available. In contrast to the original, a loose transverse or longitudinal cladding with viewing platforms is provided on each level. However, the wooden tower version described and proposed by the association has not yet been secured. An aluminum construction could also be implemented at the instigation of the city council.
