Thomas Eduard van den Valentyn (* 1945 in Münchehof ) is a German architect .

Life

Thomas van den Valentyn completed his architecture studies at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf and in Vienna with Professor Hans Hollein , which he graduated with a diploma in 1972. From 2000 to 2001 he was visiting professor at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and from 2004 to 2005 and 2006 to 2007 he was a guest critic at RWTH Aachen University . He is a member of the Association of German Architects and the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Architects . Van den Valentyn lives and works in Cologne .

The chamber music hall of the Beethoven House in Bonn was one of Thomas van den Valentyn's first buildings . In addition to a variety of other projects, he was the architect responsible for the Music High School Schloss Belvedere in Weimar and the restoration of the Reichstag President's Palace in Berlin , together with Gernot Schulz , the Law Faculty in Halle and the conference building of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin . He was also responsible for the design of the Max Ernst Museum in Brühl with Seyed Mohammad Oreyzi .
