Max Maven (* 21st December 1950 in Ithaca , New York as Philip Goldstein ) is an American magician , mentalist , inventor and author.

Life

He is the son of an astrophysicist and a university employee. One of his two younger sisters works in the federal government, the other is a language teacher and singing teacher for the opera. At the age of seven, Max Maven began to be interested in magic. At the age of 12 he was already performing in public. After high school, he studied American Culture and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1972 . In 1974 he finally turned his hobby into a profession and called himself a mentalist ever since. His ingenuity is highly valued in the professional world. He invented or improved and published about 2000 tricks. His articles have been published in the journals Genii, Magic, Abracadabra, Magische Welt and many more.

He has published publications on the subject of card magic and mental magic. He has developed special formats for television. In 1986, he was the only guest to appear on every episode of The Best of Magic . In 1984 he brought out the interactive video show Max Maven's Mindgames at Universal Studios . As a trick technology consultant he worked for his colleagues David Copperfield , Siegfried & Roy , Doug Henning and Lance Burton . In 2005 he officially changed his real name to Max Maven.
