Max Merker
Max Merker (born September 15, 1861 in Weimar ; † July 30, 1928 there ) was a German painter.
Life
Merker studied at the Weimar art school and was a student of Theodor Hagen , Alexander Struys and Woldemar Friedrich . Worked as a portrait and landscape painter in Weimar. He painted his atmospheric landscapes based on motifs from the Harz Mountains and Upper Franconia and sometimes gave them mythological accessories. His works in museum possession found their way into museums in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia in particular.
