Max Michel trout

Max Michel Forell (born September 27, 1916 in Munich ; † August 11, 2012 there ) was a German physician .

For more than twenty years he was head of the gastroenterological department at the Inner City Clinic of the University of Munich , of which he was acting director from 1969 to 1971.

He dealt in particular with the diagnosis and therapy of chronic pancreatitis , the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis, the physiology of the exocrine pancreas and the influence of bile and bile salts in the duodenum on exocrine pancreatic secretion. Forell was one of the first in Germany to introduce intraduodenal pancreatic function testing.

In 1975 he published the volume on pancreas of the fifth edition of the manual of internal medicine (volume 3, part 6) and was co-author of the chapter Physiology of the exocrine pancreas .
