Max Reimer (politician)

Max Friedrich Andreas Reimer (born September 8, 1921 in Hamburg ; † before June 4, 1988 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

Education, occupation and union activity

After attending primary school, Reimer did an apprenticeship as a lathe operator and was then called up for military service. After his release from captivity in 1949, he joined the SPD and the trade union and was involved in works councils and as works council chairman. After attending union schools and the academy for work in Frankfurt am Main , he became managing director of IG Metall . This was followed by activities as managing directors at Toto and Lotto Hamburg and at Nordwest Lotto and Toto Hamburg Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH .

Political career

From 1957 to 1982 Reimer was a member of the Hamburg parliament. He was mainly involved in the budget committee and served at times as group manager. In the 9th electoral term (1978 to 1982) he headed the parliamentary committee of inquiry to investigate the reasons for the failure of the Blohm restructuring .
