Max Schimmeck

Max Schimmeck (born August 13, 1900 , † July 1, 1970 in Bremen ) was a Bremen politician ( SPD , KPD ) and a member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

Schimmeck worked as an engineer from 1937 to 1945 at Focke-Wulf and at Weser-Flugzeugbau in Bremen . He was a member of the u. a. SPD and KPD founded on May 3, 1945 Combat Association against Fascism (KGF). In 1945 he became a personnel officer at the Bremen employment office.

He had been a member of the SPD since 1917. In 1933 he joined the NSDAP to camouflage his resistance activities. However, around 1933/34 he was imprisoned for his illegal activities for the SPD. In 1945 he joined the KPD and was head of the economic department of the KPD district leadership. In 1945 he became chairman of the central committee of the Bremen works councils. After his time as a member of parliament, he rejoined the SPD.

From April 1946 to 1947 he was a member of the appointed and the first elected Bremen citizenship and active in deputations of the citizenship. He was Vice President of the Appointed Bremen Citizenship and Secretary of the Citizenship in the first electoral term .

In 1947 he applied for a school to be named after Hermann Böse . First, as is customary in Bremen, the street at this school was named after Böse. In 2005 the Hermann-Böse-Gymnasium was officially given the name that was used after the war.
