Max Konrad Felix Schultz (born December 3, 1874 in Neu Brünken, Pomerania ; † January 23, 1917 in the Hoofden ) was a German naval officer, most recently corvette captain and head of a torpedo boat flotilla.

career

Schultz joined the Imperial Navy in 1894 . He received his first command in the I. Torpedo Boat Flotilla under Corvette Captain Leberecht Maaß . After working in the Reichsmarineamt he became head of the VI in 1913. Torpedo boat flotilla. With this he took part in various advances of the high seas fleet in the First World War, including the battle on the Dogger Bank and the Skagerrak Battle , during which he drove with his flotilla a relief attack on the main force of the British battle fleet.

When she was moved to Zeebrugge , the VI led by him. T-Flotilla on January 23, 1917 in the Hoofden on superior British forces. His guide boat, the torpedo boat V 69 , was badly damaged in the ensuing naval battle with British light cruisers and he himself was killed by a direct hit on the navigating bridge. Despite severe damage, the boat was brought to IJmuiden .
