Max Stickel (born May 3, 1875 in Kaltennordheim , † February 9, 1952 in Berlin ) was a German gynecologist .

Life

Stickel, the son of a pharmacy owner, attended the Karl-Friedrich-Gymnasium in Eisenach , studied medicine in Gießen, Freiburg i. Br., Erlangen and Jena, graduated as Dr. med. and in 1910 became senior physician at the Charité University Women's Clinic in Berlin. In 1913 he completed his habilitation at the University of Berlin and in 1916 received the title of professor. In 1918 he was appointed associate professor. During the First World War he served as a surgeon in various hospitals and leader of a medical company in the west and east.

In 1933 Stickel became director and professor of the gynecological department of the Rudolf Virchow Hospital in Berlin. In 1950 he retired.

Max Stickel was the editor of the annual reports on all obstetrics and gynecology and their border areas (Berlin). He has authored numerous critical articles and papers in specialist journals, particularly on uterine cancer and internal secretion .

His grave is on the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf .
