Max and Ruby is an American / Canadian animated series produced by Nick Jr. and Treehouse TV . The series is based on the children's book series Max and Ruby by the author Rosemary Wells and is aimed primarily at preschoolers.

The series is about the experiences of the restless and determined three-year-old rabbit Max and his seven-year-old, calm and determined sister Ruby. Often it is about conflicts between the siblings and how they solve them. The episodes consist of three stories each. In addition to the two, the siblings' grandmother, the neighbor boy Roger, and Ruby's friends Louise and Valerie have regular appearances.

Production and publication

The series was produced by 9 Story Entertainment, Nelvana, Silver Lining Productions, Treehouse Originals and Nickelodeon Productions in 2002 and 2013, directed by Jamie Whitney and Steven Boeckler. The music was composed by Geoff Bennett.

The first broadcast took place from October 21, 2002 on Nick Jr. in the USA and on Treehouse TV in Canada, a total of four seasons were broadcast. The German premiere took place on November 3, 2003 on the Disney Channel. Since the German branch of Nickelodeon began broadcasting, the program has been shown in the Nick Jr. program window and also on Pay TV on Nick Junior . In England and Ireland the series is presented on the branches Nick Jr. UK and Nick Jr. 2 .
