Maximilian Schubart

Maximilian Schubart (born December 12, 1920 , † March 2, 1982 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German psychologist and entrepreneur . He is considered to be the founder of the business field direct search (executive search) in Germany or as Germany's first headhunter .

Life

Maximilian Schubart was the son of the Russian émigré and lawyer Vera Berman (* 1897) and the German pilot Josef Englert (1893–1936). He was later adopted by Vera Berman's second husband, the cultural philosopher Walter Schubart (1897–1942). The Frankfurt lawyer and environmentalist Alexander Schubart is his half-brother.

Schubart was a doctor of psychology. As a German partner of the American management consultant Fry Consultants Inc., he built up a company from 1961 that specialized in the direct search for executives. In 1964 he published the book The Taboo of Salaries . Schubart liked to provoke in numerous interviews and claimed to be a Muslim .
