Maximiliano Amondarain , full name Maximiliano Javier Amondarain Colzada , (born January 22, 1993 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.86 meter tall defensive player Amondarain joined Nacional Montevideo in 2006 and subsequently went through all of the Bolsos youth teams . From there he moved to Club Atlético Progreso on loan in August 2012 . There he made his debut on October 7, 2012 in the game against Fénix in the top Uruguayan division. In the Apertura and Clausura 2012/13 there are a total of 18 appearances (no goal) in the Primera División for him. He joined Cardiff City in late August 2013 and signed a four-year deal. The Welsh acquired 50 percent of the transfer rights for 400,000 euros. However, this payment did not go to Nacional Montevideo, but was split between the consultants involved in the conclusion of the contract, Progreso and Amondarain themselves. He was not used at Cardiff City in the 2013/14 season. In late December 2013 it was reported that he had been loaned to his previous club Progreso. This alleged loan is neither confirmed nor discussed in an article about him in the newspaper El Observador from January 2015. In the 2014/15 season there were again no league appearances for him. He was under contract with the Welsh until mid-2017. On June 24, 2015, Amondarain and the club mutually agreed to an immediate and early termination of the contractual relationship. In December 2015 he joined the Spanish club FC Elche from January 2016 . Without a competitive game, he moved to FC Barakaldo in early October 2016 . He made 25 league appearances for the Basques in the 2016/17 season and scored three goals. In mid-July 2017, he returned to Uruguay and joined the Racing Club de Montevideo .

National team

Amondarain made his debut on December 22, 2012 under coach Juan Verzeri at the Copa Antel in the game against Athletico Paranaense in the Uruguayan U-20 national team . Amondarain was a member of the Uruguayan U-20 squad at the 2013 U-20 South American Championship in Argentina and played a game during the tournament. In July 2013 he was then runner-up with Uruguay at the U-20 World Cup 2013 in Turkey . At first he was not considered for the tournament. However, after the injury to Fabricio Formiliano , he was nominated. So far (as of July 5, 2013) he has completed three international matches in this age group. He didn't score a goal.
