Maximiliano Montero , full name Maximiliano Felipe Montero Rodríguez , (born August 27, 1988 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.76 meter tall defensive player Montero was in the squad of the then Uruguayan first division club Liverpool Montevideo from the Apertura 2006 to the Clausura 2011 . There he played a total of 41 games in the Primera División in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons . He did not score a goal (2009/10: 22 games (0 goals); 2010/11: 19 (0)). He was also used in two games of the Copa Libertadores . From the Apertura 2011, a loan station followed at the Argentine club CA Tigre . In the 2011/12 season, however, the Argentines only have one appearance each in the Primera División and in the Copa Argentina . In 2012, Montero returned to Liverpool. After eight goalless premier league appearances for him in the 2012/13 season and a game in the Copa Sudamericana , he was given back on loan from the Montevideans during this 2013 season. This time the receiving club was Liverpool's first division competitor Cerro Largo FC . In the rest of the game round he played four games in the Primera División (no goal). On August 7, 2013, he then joined Envigado and was there 13 times in the Primera A Colombia (no goal). Since the Apertura 2014 he has been back in Uruguay for the newly promoted Rampla Juniors . In the 2014/15 season he made 21 first division appearances (no goal). After relegation at the end of the season, he played nine second division games in Apertura 2015 and scored one goal. At the end of January 2016 he moved to the first division club El Tanque Sisley on loan . There he made nine first division appearances in the 2016 Clausura (no goal). He then returned to the Rampla Juniors. So far (as of August 7, 2017) he has played 19 top division games across all seasons at the Montevideo club in the 2016 and 2017 season and scored one goal.
