The May Glacier is a 10 km long and 8 km wide glacier on the Clarie coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It flows into the Southern Ocean 7 km west of Cape Carr .
Aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947) were used to map it. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the glacier in 1955 after William May (1814-1902), midshipman on the schooner Flying Fish in the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) under the direction of the US polar explorer Charles Wilkes .
