Maya Boog

Maya Boog (* in Thalwil ) is a Swiss opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

After studying singing in Lucerne and with Klesie Kelly at the Cologne University of Music , she was a member of the Zurich Opera Studio from 1993–1994 . 1994–1997 she was engaged at the Staatstheater Darmstadt . From 2001 to 2009 she was a member of the ensemble of the Basel Theater . There she appeared repeatedly as a guest afterwards. In 2009 she played the leading role of Mimi in the live television production of La Bohème im Hochhaus (DRS / ARTE).

Boog performed a. a. at the Grand Théâtre de Genève , at the State Opera in Prague , the Volksoper Vienna , the Komische Oper Berlin , at the Nationaltheater Mannheim , at the Bregenz Festival and the Schwetzingen Festival .

In addition, she often sings in concerts and works regularly with ensembles that have dedicated themselves to the historical performance practice of baroque music.

Boog was married to the tenor Hans Peter Blochwitz .
