The Maya Mare is an adventure pool in Halle (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt . It has a water surface of 1331 m² with four water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and other attractions. There is also a sauna and wellness area and a fitness club. The entire facility is in the Mexican style.

General

Maya Mare was built on the site of the Beesen waterworks, which closed in 1993, and opened on April 1, 1999. The plans come from the architect Rainer Eckert. The costs for the project amounted to 72 million DM. The sponsor is Stadtwerke Halle GmbH . Every year around 350,000 visitors come to the adventure pool.

location

The Maya Mare is located in the southern district of Beesen , directly on the banks of the White Elster . The pool is connected to the tram network via the Beesen terminus . There is also a private car park with 300 parking spaces.

Bathing area

Maya Mare has a 130 m long flow channel ( lazy river ) that winds through the northern half of the bathing area and leads along an adventure pool with massage jets and bubble beds. It is also connected to the 290 m² heated outdoor pool. In addition, there is a separate, 385 m² large and up to 1.60 m deep wave pool that tapers out flat. The wave machine is switched on every hour for about six minutes. Two whirlpools complete the offer.

For children there is a baby pool and the adventure pool called Tulumaya . This was opened on October 1, 2016 after the renovation of the old children's pool and offers four children's slides, climbing tubes and water games.

There are also four large slides in Maya Mare . Two of them are tire slides that can be used with single and double tires:

  • the green tire slide starts at a height of 8.71 m and is 88 m long.
  • The 122 m long Langnese Laser Express , a black hole slide with light effects, begins one floor above .
  • The yellow turbo slide (77 m) starts right next to it.
  • On the top floor of the slide tower, at a height of 14 m, is the entrance for the blue tire slide with a length of 140 m.

There are sunbathing lawns, a children's playground and a beach volleyball field on the Maya Mare outdoor area. A self-service restaurant takes care of the bathers. Payment is initially made using the key bracelet; when leaving the bathroom, all costs are paid at the cash desk or the pay machine in the entrance area.

Sauna and wellness

The Maya Mare sauna area is 2500 m² in size and has the ambience of a Mexican village. It can be booked separately or entered from the bathing area at an additional cost. A total of nine different saunas are offered, including a brine grotto , a herbal sauna and a caldarium . The area also includes experience showers, an ice cube fountain, its own outdoor area, plunge pools and restaurants.

In addition, various massages, cosmetic treatments and aromatic baths are offered in the bathroom for a surcharge.

Since December 2019 the Maya mare has the multi-storey rest house MAYAPÁN in the Mexican style with a view of the Elsteraue. There, the sauna guests are offered almost fifty additional relaxation options, from sauna loungers to beds, beanbags, hanging chairs and Hollywood swings.

fitness

Under the name Viva Mare , the bath operates a fitness club with its own equipment park, various training courses and advisory services. The fitness center can also be used for a fee without membership in the club.
