The McDonald Point is a headland , the western end of the island of Islay in the William Scoresby Archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Lands forms.
The name of the headland apparently goes back to scientists from the British Discovery Investigations , who mapped it with the RRS William Scoresby in February 1936 . The further naming background has not been passed down.
