Emmerich Ritter
Emmerich Ritter , Hungarian Ritter Imre , (born August 5, 1952 in Budaörs ) is a Hungarian politician ( LdU ) of the German minority . Since the parliamentary elections in Hungary in 2014 , he has been their first speaker in the Hungarian parliament . In the parliamentary elections in Hungary in 2018 , he won the first seat in parliament for his party.
He works as a tax advisor and auditor .
biography
Ritter was born in Budaörs in Pest County in 1952 into a family belonging to the German minority. He attended a grammar school in Budapest and then studied economics at what is now the Corvinus University in Budapest . After successfully completing his studies in 1976, he worked for the Budapest Transport Company . In 1982 he completed another degree as a mathematician at the Eötvös Loránd University . He has been a self-employed auditor and tax advisor since 1990.
Career as a politician
Since the fall of communism in 1990, Ritter has been committed to representing the interests of the German minority. In 1994 he became a member of the first minority self-government in his hometown and shortly afterwards elected its chairman. Since 1998 he has been elected several times as chairman of the economic committee of the self-government of the Hungarian Germans . In the parliamentary elections in Hungary in 1998 he ran as unsuccessfully as in the election for mayor of Budaörs in 2010.
In the parliamentary elections in Hungary in 2014, he ran for second place on the list of state self-government of the Hungarian Germans. The list won no mandate. Since Otto Heinek, who was first on the list, did not take up the mandate as a speaker in parliament that was intended for national minorities in Hungary, Emmerich Ritter became the first representative of the Hungarian Germans in the parliament.
In the parliamentary elections in Hungary in 2018, the votes of the LdU were enough for a regular place. As the first on the list, Ritter belongs to the new parliament.

Ritter speaks fluent Hungarian, German and English.
He is married and a father of five. His wife works as a teacher.
