The McGrady Cove is a bay on the Budd Coast of the East Antarctic Wilke country . It is at the head of Newcomb Bay .
It was first mapped using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy in 1947 during Operation Highjump (1946–1947) and in 1948 during Operation Windmill (1947–1948). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1963 after the photographer Edsell Dean McGrady (1916-2002) of the United States Navy, who took part in the flights during Operation Highjump over the Windmill Islands in 1947 .
