The McKelvey Valley is a valley between the western part of the Olympus Range and the Isle of Range in East Antarctic Victoria Land .
It was named on the occasion of a 1958-1959 campaign as part of New Zealand's Victoria University's Antarctic Expeditions . It is named after Barrie Cooper McKelvey (* 1937), a geologist from Victoria University and participant of the expedition, who had already carried out initial geological research work in the valley between 1957 and 1958 as part of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958).
