The McLean Buttress is a mountain ridge in East Antarctica, Victoria Land . In the Cruzen Range it rises steeply on the north side of Webb Lake and the Barwick Valley and marks the southern limit of the plateau The Fortress .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1976 after Frank E. McLean of the United States Coast Guard , captain of the icebreaker USCGC Burton Island in the Ross Sea during Operation Deep Freeze in 1970 and 1971.
