The McLeod River is a river in the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The McLeod River rises on the Nechako Plateau at about 1000  m altitude - 2 km southeast of the Two Bears Lakes . From there it initially flows a short distance north, but then turns to the east and flows into Carp Lake , which it leaves again on its northeastern shore. It continues to flow in a northeastern direction. It flows through the small War Lake and passes the War Falls . Shortly afterwards, the McDougall River , which is much richer in water, flows into the river from the left. After about 80 km, the McLeod River reaches the northwest shore of McLeod Lake , which is drained from the Pack River north to Williston Lake . The upper reaches of the McLeod River lies in Carp Lake Provincial Park . The river is suitable for fly fishing . At the level below Carp Lake, the mean discharge in May and June is 11 m³ / s.
