The McSaveney Spur is a prominent mountain ridge in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Willett Range it rises 3 km northeast of Mount Bastion . It extends from the polar plateau in a north-easterly direction to the north-west flank of the Webb Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1976 after the couple Maurice James (* 1945) and Eileen R. McSaveney (* 1945), who worked as geologists between 1968 and 1973 both jointly and independently in the area of the Meserve Glacier and the Wright Valley were operating.
