Meaghan Simister

Meaghan Simister (born November 10, 1987 in Regina ) is a Canadian luge athlete .

Meaghan Simister is a student and lives in Calgary . She has been tobogganing since 1999, since 2000 as part of the Canadian national team. The Canadian made his debut in the 2002/03 season in the Luge World Cup . Her first race was on her home track in Calgary, where she finished 22nd. The best of their three season results was a 17th place in Oberhof . Since the following season , Simister has had a permanent place in the World Cup. In Winterberg she was able to improve her best performance to eleventh place, in the end she was 18th in the overall standings. In the 2004/05 season she achieved some good results such as 12th place in Altenberg , but also fell twice and was therefore only 28th overall. The two following seasons were again rather mediocre and mostly achieved placements between 15 and 25.

The Canadian competed several times at major events. At the 2004 Luge World Championships in Nagano Simister finished 16th, 2005 in Park City 22nd and 2007 in Igls 18th. Simister achieved her best international result at the Luge World Championships 2008 in Oberhof , where she finished ninth for the first time in one international race achieved a single-digit result.
