Edeltraud Gatterer

Edeltraud Gatterer (born June 22, 1954 in Villach ) is an Austrian housewife and politician ( ÖVP ). Gatterer was a member of the National Council between 1990 and 2002 .

education and profession

Gatterer attended compulsory school and then a higher federal college for economic women professions, which she graduated in 1973 with the Matura. Gatterer also passed the tour guide license examination.

Gatterer worked for the post and telegraph directorate between 1973 and 1978 and was head of a seasonal tourism office from 1980 to 1988.

politics

Gatterer was the Carinthian regional director and federal deputy director of the Austrian women's movement . She also held the position of a board member of the European Women's Union and was Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In September 2003 Gatterer resigned from her position as chairwoman of the Austrian women's movement in Carinthia.

Gatterer was a councilor in Villach from 1985 to 1990 and represented the ÖVP in the National Council between November 5, 1990 and December 19, 2002. She did not get a secure place on the state list for the 2002 National Council election and left parliament after the election.
