The Meall Corranaich is a 1069 meter high mountain in Scotland . Its Gaelic name means mountain of the sickle . The mountain, classified as Munro , is part of a mountain range in Perthshire on the north bank of Loch Tay , the highest mountain of which is the neighboring Ben Lawers to the southeast . A total of seven peaks of the mountain range are classified as Munro.

Together with its northern neighbor, the Meall a 'Choire Lèith , the Meall Corranaich is located to the northwest, somewhat separated from the other peaks of the Ben Lawers group, separated by two valleys, the Coire Odhar , which opens to the south, and the Coire Odhar to the north, towards Glen Lyon running Coire a 'Chobhair . The Meall Corranaich is connected to the Ben Lawers and the Beinn Ghlas via the approximately 860 meter high Bealach at the end of the two valleys . An old path that was used by cattle drovers runs through the two valleys and over the pass . Like almost all Munros around the Ben Lawers, the Meall Corranaich has a wide, gently sloping summit plateau that ends in all directions with wide grassy slopes. Together with the northern neighboring mountain, the Meall Corranaich forms an elongated broad ridge, the highest points of which are formed by the two Munros and their pre-peaks. The terrain becomes steeper to the west and east and falls, interspersed with rocks, into the neighboring valleys. The reservoir Lochan na Lairige separates the mountain from the neighboring Tarmachan Ridge to the west , the highest point of which is the Meall nan Tarmachan . To the south the ridge runs out into a narrow ridge with rocks. Like Ben Lawers, the mountain belongs to the National Trust for Scotland , the entire mountain group is designated as a National Nature Reserve .

Meall Corranaich is usually climbed by Munro excavators together with its northern neighbor. There are various climbs. The shortest option branches off on the Bealach above the Coire Odhar from the approach to Ben Lawers and leads over the short rocky southeast ridge to the summit. From the National Trust visitor center located south of Meall Corranaich on the narrow road connecting Loch Tay and Glen Lyon, there is also a direct ascent via the south ridge. A little further north, another ascent branches off the road and leads over the western side of the Lochan na Lairige reservoir to the summit.
