The Medhalsen (Norwegian for landmark neck ) is an icy mountain saddle in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . In Gjelsvikfjella it is located immediately south of Risemedet .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped it on the basis of measurements and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
