The Medical Park Hospitals Group ( Turkish Medical Park Hastaneler Grubu ) has been active in the healthcare sector since 1995 and offers its services in various provinces of Turkey . It employs more than 6,000 doctors and staff and consists of a total of 17 hospitals.
Medical Park is the largest hospital group in Turkey.
The hospital group was founded by the current board member, Muharrem Usta. In 2006 he sold 30% of the company's shares to the Sancak family. This partnership enabled the company to grow by 13 hospitals with 2,000 beds within 3 years. At the end of 2009, 40% of the company's shares were sold to the third largest American investment company, the Carlyle Group . With this new partnership, the company reached 17 hospitals with a total of 2771 beds, making it the largest company of its kind in Turkey. In March 2013 it was announced that the Carlyle Group had sold its shares in Medical Park to the largest US venture capital and private equity investment company Texas Pacific Group .
Sponsorship
- The group sponsored the Trabzonspor men's team during the 2010/2011 season of the Türkiye Basketbol Ligi .
- In the 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 seasons, the Galatasaray Istanbul women's team was sponsored in the Turkish Women's Basketball League .
- In 2010/2011 the women's volleyball team was sponsored.
- Medical Park has been sponsoring the Galatasaray Istanbul men's team since 2011 . In the 2012/2013 season, the team became champions again after 23 years.
- In football, the group sponsors the Antalyaspor club , which plays in the Süper Lig .
