Medon is a genus of beetles from the family of the ruffles (Staphylinidae) within the subfamily Paederinae . It occurs in Europe with 43 species.
features
The rather smaller beetles are very similar to those of the genus Lithocharis , but differ from them by their long temples, which are considerably longer than the diameter of the compound eyes . Your head is more or less square, with rounded temple angles. The first link of the tarsi of the hind legs is longer than the second, the outer edge of the rails of the hind legs is thornless and does not have long hairs.
Occurrence and way of life
The animals live under damp leaves and stones in damp places.
