Megan Amram

Megan Amram (born September 3, 1987 ) is an American screenwriter , comedian , actress and producer . She received two Emmy nominations in 2018 for her series An Emmy for Megan .

Life

Amram grew up in Portland, Oregon and studied psychology at Harvard University . She has lived in Los Angeles since 2010.

Amram wrote plays for Harvard's theater group Hasty Pudding during her studies , and she also appeared in plays herself. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles to establish herself as a comedy writer.

At this point, she had already made a name for herself on Twitter with her jokes, which helped her to make contacts in the comedy world and to get her first engagements: Among other things, she wrote for the Oscars 2011 and the Disney series ANT: Attention nature talents . Michael Schur became aware of her through her tweets, and she hired her as a writer for his series Parks and Recreation . Amram is also involved in Schur's series The Good Place as executive producer and part of the team of authors. She also produces and writes a. for The Simpsons .

In 2018, Amram's web series An Emmy for Megan went online. The declared aim and theme of the series was to win an Emmy in the category “Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series”.
